Interesting small city southeast of Brussels. Wavre has a pretty downtown area with some serious shopping possibilities which makes it more lively, independent and habitable than many other Brussels suburbs. A regional centre because a) it is a little bit further away from the capital , and b) it has the critical mass to sustain a busy and attractive city centre.
