Huldenberg is located southeast of Brussels. This is where the true countryside starts. Depending on your viewpoint, that countryside might be very attractive to look at indeed. Huldenberg has a mix of woodlands, agriculture, and livestock grazing on pastures. Still very Flemish and quiet.
The municipality consists of five small communities: Huldenberg (around 3000 inhabitants), Neerijse, Loonbeek, Sint-Agatha-Rode, and Ottenburg. Each of the four latter does have less than 2000 inhabitants.
