Auderghem
in French, Oudergem in Dutch, has become an upmarket commune within the
bounderies of the Brussels Agglomeration. You will still find ugly
pockets of deprivation in this municipality, but all
in all Auderghem has seen an influx Belgian bourgeois (60s,
70s) and of European foreigners (80s, 90s, 00s) who brought a lot of
energy and capital into the area. This resulted in an area with well
kept houses, a well maintained public domain, good schools, and low
crime rate. Just a very nice environment to raise a family, for
instance. |
