Asse is Flemish municipality west of the capital. It does have around 30.000 inhabitants. It comprises Asse proper, Zellik, Bekkerzeel, Kobbegem, Mollem, Relegem. Part of the municipality is inside the Ring.

The mayor of Asse is Koen van Elsen of the CD & V (christian democrats). He leads a coalition of christian democrats, nationalists (NV-A), and local Flemish parties.
